Our Parade and Festival officially open with the Flag Presentation. The ceremony takes place at 10 a.m. at the northeast corner of Laurel St. and 6th Ave. (see map below). Many Parade regulars say the ceremony is the most important event of the day.
The agenda for the Flag Presentation is as follows:
- Greeting and introduction of Honorees, Dignitaries, and Special Guests to the public
- USMC color guard to present the American Flag
- USMC band to play both National Anthems
- Presentation of the Irish Tri-color
- Invocation, Remembrance and Blessing by Monsignor Patrick O’Neill and USMC Chaplain Father Kevin Sweeney
